Fishing Gear
All of the charters that me or
my company, Dream Catcher Charters provides offers you the client your
choice of top notch fishing gear. With over 175 rods and reels I am sure you
will find my rod and reel selection well healed.
Fly Gear - I have rods made by
G-Loomis, Sage, Orvis, and Pflueger. Fly rods set up with all fly fishermen
in mind. 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 wt with floating and intermediate lines
with both left and right hand retrieve reels set up.
Spinning gear - we use
Shakespeare Ugly Stik graphite custom rods with Medalist reels. Updated
monthly these rods and reels are proving to be awesome equipment. For the
Specialist that wants something different I also have a full compliment of
G-loomis Rods and Van Stahl Reels for you to use upon request. (3 day
minimum booking required)
Offshore- You can expect to find
Penn International two speed reels for trolling. For bottom fishing we use
the Torque reels, brand new from Penn. To further our compliment offshore we
also use Shakespeare Ugly Stik rods and Medalist or Penn Spinning reels to
do battle with.
Bait casters - are available
upon request. If you are used to using them, we have some nice ones. I
personally enjoy using them in the winter for our redfish and trout fishing
with artificial. They are also a ton of fun fishing for Barracudas due to
the fast retrieve.
Fishing Line - Braid and
Monofilament. We use both. Ugly Braid 8, 10, 15, 20, and 30. the braid we
use is generally for light tackle live baiting techniques for fish such as
Tarpon, Grouper, and the like. Braid is sun sensitive and gets changed out
about once a month or about every 20 charters or when needed.
Rigging Room - is where we fix
and maintain. All of the rods and reels in service get worked on in here.
Lubed and maintained. Here we also put on our lines and re hook our plugs
that are worth keeping after they get worked over.
My reputation has gained some great
privileges in the fishing world. Here at Dream Catcher Charters we are on
the cutting edge of fishing technology with the latest gear handed down to
us to be tested in our "real World" environment from manufacturers that
"need to know" if it will last.
With over 127 rods and reels you will
never come to one of my boats and hear "oh my tarpon rod is not here because
it broke yesterday".
