Charters offers Key West Tarpon fishing for 1 - 6
anglers on three different types of boats
depending on Type of tackle, Number of persons and the
way our anglers wish to catch tarpon. We offer 4, 6, and
8 hour tarpon fishing charters. Please check out our
rates page for more details based on your needs. We have
flats boats, bay boats and 32 ft center consoles for
your needs. Some of our boats have bathrooms for the
ladies (please call for availability). We cater to all
levels of skill from 6 years old to 95 there are no
limits to what we can do with people. Every boat is
fully outfitted with what you need to land a big fish
comfortably. Belts and harnesses are available for those
that need outfitted by AFTCO. Again taking tarpon
fishing to the next level of comfort and versatility.
 We
like to use the lightest tackle needed to land your
fish. Spinning rods with lines replaced regularly in our
full service rigging shop to ensure there is no failure.
Bait casters are available on request. On our 32 ft
center console larger rods are used to man handle big
fish and larger groups. All of our hooks are supplied by
OWNER Hooks ensuring you the best in needle point
hookups and strength. We use circle hooks and J hooks
depending on the bait.
Live bait fishing is made easy with
a never ending supply of trapped bait. Each trip leaves
the dock to hit the traps for the freshest in live bait.
This takes 5 minutes as opposed to 1 hour casting a net.
Or worse yet, using dead bait.....
 Artificial
baits are a big part of our tarpon fishing here as well.
We use plugs made by MirrroLure, Rapala, and Yozuri. In
some instances Berkley Gulp baits are used. Rest assured
all will be provided and on board your Key West Tarpon
Fishing boat here at Dream Catcher Charters.
Fly Fishing for tarpon in Key West
is a hoot. We offer 4 and 6 hour trips to the flats for
fly fishing for tarpon. We supply all the gear you will
need as well as new fly lines in the 11 and 12 wt class.
Both left and right hand retrieve is provided and full
instruction is available if needed. You are welcome to
chose either the flats boats or the bay boats for your
vehicle to the flats.
The winter colder weather brings in
the Gulf fish from the north to feed on our baitfish in
between cold fronts. Into March the harbor fills up with
some huge fish ready to eat live bait. All the way into
April you will find copious amounts of fish.
Fly fishing for tarpon on the flats
here in Key West this is the time. Live bait and plug
fishing on spin gear light tackle are also a great way
to fish this time of the year. This is the traditional
tarpon fishing season in Key West. Bookings this time of
the year get tight as everyone comes here for this.
Hit or miss mostly hit. We still
have pockets of fish laying around. Better for the live
bait guys.. For the fly fisherman the baby tarpon are
the focus in the fall.
During peak time (Spring) it is
critical that you call early to make your reservations.
