Owen's and Son's Marine Aluminum Slide On Boat Trailers
10/25/03 Updated 08/22/04
Trailers for me are how I get to
work. In my career both as a flats fishing guide and
offshore fishing, racing, diving and goofing off I have
owned over 10 trailers and worked with so many others
helping folks with their boating issues, not to mention
being at the many shows that I do and hearing the issues
that folks have with the trailer they use. In all of
that, I have never had, heard or seen an issue with an
Owens and Sons Aluminum Slide on trailer.
I really put them to what I thought was the "test" when
I asked them to build a trailer last year for my 02'
Lake and Bay flats boat. I called it in over the phone,
They had it ready for me before I was ready to pick it
up. I was skeptical, because they said they had never
built a trailer for a Lake and Bay. I thought surely it
would not fit very tight. I was so wrong. It not only
fit tight, but the factory that built my boat made a
comment that it fit like it was one of their custom
trailers. I thought to my self "your custom trailer
company could not even begin to imitate this trailer". I
have had that trailer now for 1.5 years and 20,000 miles
of towing. I had one problem, A light bulb went out on
it last week. 10/25/03.
11/04/04 The latest trailer I had them build for me was
for my new boat, pictured here in this thumbnail. I
tried something new with them. Teflon slides and LED
lighting. UN REAL. I back into the ramp to my desired
position, (wheels barely wet) Un latch step on my bow
and slide right off with the boat. Works PERFECT ! I
recommend letting these guys set your trailer up the way
they feel works. The LED lighting is Brilliant to say
the least. Gotta have it. I am trailoring early in the
morning to work. Would really suck if I got hit cause'
someone could not see me, now, they have no excuse.
Affordability, custom work, great components, and no
failure. I am not a real flashy person when it comes to
my trailers. They built mine very plain simple. They can
however really dress them up so you will feel good at
any of those flashy metal flake boat tournaments. I have
seen trailers from other manufacturers twice as
expensive with only half the quality. You cannot get a
better deal. While these guys are in business (and they
have been forever) I will go nowhere else.
Thanks Owen's and Son's boat trailers for making the
Marine Retail industry look good.
