Mercury Racing has come
together with the next installment of the XS lineup of out outboards. Not to
out do the 250 XS which is a super power plant in the field of 6 cylinder
power plants. The 300 XS is an incredibly robust machine, developing
superior low end torque and amazing top end power. Unlike the past EFI and
Carb X motors this motor is docile and quiet at idle and around the docks
then turns mean as hell when the throttle is rolled up and power is needed.
Like the 250 XS the 300 XS will without a doubt find its way to the transoms
of many fishing boats and go fast boats looking for the most power available
today for a single outboard.

One
is a 25 inch 5800 RPM engine on a
24 Yellowfin Bay Boat.
The motor has 300 Hours on it without an issue. I
have changed plugs once at 250 hours and the motor
gets about 4 MPG on this application with a 23"
Mirage plus. Oil consumption is med to heavy but the
motor runs really Strong.
This motor is not for
sale.
The
other is a 20 inch on a
Lake and Bay 20 Ft Boca Grande.
Sport Master Gear case. What a joy to drive. 80 MPH
ready to fish, almost 90 empty. 6 MPG at cruise. You
cant beat it. No problems at 350 hrs.

- Engine operating noise has been
reduced by a air compressor attenuator, New exhaust system and foam
wrapped cowling.
- 25 and 30 inch models have softer
upper and lower engine mounts to further reduce noise and Vibration
- 60 amp belt driven Alternator
- Requires 91 minimum octane fuel (NO
EXCEPTIONS).
- Torque master , sport master, fleet
master gear cases are available with wide variety of gear ratios fit many
applications
- 2 year limited warrantee +3 year
limited corrosion warrantee for recreational boaters.

the 300 XS on my Lake and Bay 20 ft Boca Grande flats boat. I can tell you a
few things about the motor feel free to email me questions and I can dispel
the rumors. Don't ask me about Speed.

I will tell you a few things here.
- Fuel economy is unbelievable.
- Torque is more than I have ever
experienced.
- Idles like a kitten
- Does not eat spark Plugs like old
versions of the 300. no matter how much I idle.
- Roars like a lion when you crack the
throttle.
- Motor has a great sound to it.
- Very well behaved.
I am very excited to be a part of
this motors history. I know that the 300 XS will be a much sought after
power plant. When they do come on line in production or your dealer can take
orders. DO IT. There will be a huge demand for this motor. Your gonna Luv
it....
