Light Tackle Flats Fishing in Key West, Florida Keys

Flats Fishing, Backcountry Fishing, Near shore, Offshore, Wrecks and Reef. there is a ton of fun to be had with light tackle. Spinning gear, bait casters and light conventional fishing rods and reels. Using the bare minimums to catch your fish. The lighter the line the better the fight making fishing that much more fun and exciting.

Instruction

I will help you learn what is needed to cast to, hook, fight and land big fish on light tackle. No matter what your skill level is, together, we will improve it after a day of light tackle fishing. Understanding of what the fish will do to make a run for it, how to keep him from finding cover, how to use the angles to defeat a fish faster using easy to learn techniques in battle. Also palming / thumbing techniques for advanced anglers.

You Won't get beat up!

Offending my customers is not my deal. I will share with you the tools that will make this a great experience, then it is up to you to use them. You can always chose the day your way.

Inshore

On the flats and in the backcountry we use 6 - 20 lbs test for fish like Bonefish, Tarpon, Barracudas, Permit, Jacks, Trout, Cobia and more. Here you can catch a 100 lb tarpon on a 20 lb test spinning outfit. thats 5 to one.

Offshore

Tackle a dolphin on 8 lb test or a permit on the wrecks or reef with 10 lb. The big fun is to go after an Amberjack, Kingfish, or Sailfish with 15 lb test spinning gear.

My Equipment

You are welcome to bring your own light tackle fishing gear, however I do have gear for you to use that is in perfect condition and will offer you great success here in our world. Check out my Equipment Room for your self and see that we don't mess around.
