Some folks use that word to describe my tackle
selection. I have too much stuff some say and then
others have a look of Awe when visiting my office and
seeing the war room. I look at tackle like I look at the
horse power on my boats, you can never have enough or
too much. The war room is the room that all men have
always wanted. Its the place where I keep my rods and
reels that get used on a daily basis. The War room
consists of over 350 rods and as many reels ready for
battle. Mostly back ups and about 1/3 are in service the
rest are brand new and ready.
I would tout all the sponsors and names that are in the
War Room but it really is unnecessary here as we do test
an evaluation for a few manufacturers that we give in
depth feedback of what you liked about the gear while
using it.
Most are high end graphite with AFTCO and Fuji guides
and seats. Ranging in sizes from 2-6 lb to 30-60 lb
range. You can catch bait with the little ones or drag a
35 lb black grouper out of the rocks with the larger
ones. Most are made by Penn, UglyStik and Allstar.
I am probably the only fishing guide that carries a
large assortment of bait casters. I like using them and
love to watch people that know how to cast them use them
as well. Big fun on the flats with Barracuda Fishing and
the winter species such as Bluefish and Trout. I have
bait casters ranging in size from 6 lb to 20lb. Brands
such as All Star Platinum and UglyStik.
Fly fishing has been a part of my career as a fishing
guide since day one. I have learned that there is no
substitute for quality products in fly fishing. So, I
have the best. Orvis, Sage and G Loomis. All rods from 5
wt to 13 wt. Right and left hand retrieve and sinking or
floating lines. Your choice our gear. If you need fly
fishing gear when fishing with us we have it.
We have all trolling rods made by Ugly Stik Custom. our
reels are Penn and top quality and meticulously
maintained. Our bottom fishing rods are UglyStik with
Penn Torque reels loaded with braided line from Strenn.
Custom bent but rods built by local rod designer Dave
Esquinaldo with all AFTCO parts. Reels from Daiwa called
the Tanacom Bull 1000 and the F 300 Seaborgs. Loaded
with Strenn braid.
