Key West bonefishing is amazing! In the past few years I have seen the numbers of bonefish on Key West flats grow exponentially. Sizable fish up to 10lbs are being caught during peak times. Spin fishing or fly fishing young or old and not matter what your experience there is a Key West bonefishing trip for you.
Bonefish are generally found on the flats or shallow waters of the backcountry here out of Key West. They are spooky and require a delicate (quiet) approach to get within casting distance when they are on the flats. However we also know where they are not so spooky offering our less advantaged anglers a shot at the "Grey Ghost" of the flats.
We go fishing for bonefish with two types of boats depending on our clients needs. Bay boats offer the most stable fishing platform and allows us to bonefish with more than 2 persons per boat. Using trolling motors to go from flat to flat these boats float in less than 12 inches of water. Spin fishing with live bait and jigs or fly fishing.
A flats boat is the traditional way to fish for bonefish here in the Florida Keys and Key West. For that reason I will always have a flats boat to carry my dedicated flats fishing anglers out to the flats for shots at bonefish, tarpon and permit the "old school" way. Fly fishing or spin fishing with live bait jigs.
Fly fishermen find the challenge quite unique with a fast and accurate cast necessary to make presentation. Check out my page dedicated to fly fishing for bonefish.
Bonefishing charters are usually 4 and 6 hours. 8 hour
trips are also available but the angler should leave
himself open to fish for other species as well during
that day to get a more fulfilling experience. No more
than two can go on my flats boat but my bay boats can handle as many as 4 per boat.

The reef bite has been Awesome when we can get out there. Grouper, mackerel and snapper gather on the reef to gobble up the copious amounts of bait to be had. Large Yellow-tail snapper, sailfish, black fin tunas and wahoo are being reported in the NE winds.
I am fishing my Yellowfin Bay boat In December working the backcountry waters, reefs and local wrecks. Looking for the Cobia fishing to improve to add them to the list of an already amazing fishery.
Also.. My Flats boat is always available on special request and weather permitting.
Backcountry Fishing Charters.. Without a doubt the BEST WAY to bend a rod fishing in Key West. 1-4 anglers and a state of the art bay boat. Tarpon, Sharks, Jacks, Snappers, Bonefish, Permit and more. Look into my ALL IN ONEDER fishing charter to get the most out of your day of fishing.
- March not good. I cannot take someone's money
to go Bonefishing during these months. They are around
but deep and caught as by catch of other fishing. There are SOO many other species to fish for... See Backcountry Fishing
April - August Bonefish are found in great number
all over the flats of Key West and the Marquesas Keys.
Easy targets for all skill levels. Fly Fishing and light
tackle fishing a breeze.
September - October Big bonefish are here. Great month
for bonefish with permit and tarpon. Fly fishing
difficulty is raised for smarter older fish but the
little ones are still around.
