The first of the bay boats that we got here at Dream Catchers was purchased in 2005, we named this boat the "Intuition". It was a good name as it took some Intuition to see that people wanted a choice here in Key West to go flats fishing and Backcountry fishing. Now they have it.

It is late summer of 2007 as I write this and we now have 3 bay boats in our line up. They run every day. People want to take 3 persons on the flats. People want to be comfortable and not get beaten. My customers want to catch fish, and catch lots of fish to make it a great day for them fishing. This is why we have the Bay Boats.

Our bay boats are 24 ft in length. We can take 1 to 4 persons fishing on them. One of our boats has a bathroom (ladies love this). The bay boats are able to get in just as shallow water as the flats boats with the use of latest technology in trolling motors from Lenco and Motorguide we are able to sneak up on the same species of fish with being noticed.

As you read about our bay boats understand that I am a die hard flats fishing guide and have been using a traditional flats fishing boat for over 12 years. I love to pole a boat and sneak up on fish and have my anglers catch it using fly fishing or spin gear. I thought the bay boats would be a nice addition for our lesser experienced customers to enjoy the day in the backcountry. I had no idea that I would break every personal flats fishing record I have established in my career aboard the bay boat.

When I am guiding on the bay boats I can do more as your guide than on the flats boat. I can help you spot fish better, help you with casting. For my fly fishing clients, I can help you with line management and fly placement. I don't have to yell the casting commands anymore I am right beside you positioning the boat for your best shot. Equipped with a Power pole I can keep the boat in position silently while you get your opportunity.

The versatility of our bay boats is amazing. We fish everywhere with them. The Marquesas keys are in easy reach now without tempting our fate in a flats boat. I can also run offshore to the near shore wrecks and reefs and open up a whole different fishery for you as my angler. Options are good when spending that kind of money for your day on the water. When the weather is windy, no big deal, its not a flats boat and we can still go if you want to.

The bay boat is the ultimate Key West tarpon fishing tool. If a tarpon can go there so can I in a bay boat. Artificial, Live bait fishing is made so easy. I fish for them on the flats, in the channels, out in the backcountry, in the Marquesas Keys or anywhere and effectively. With the silent trolling motors I will hold you in place on a school that is feeding so you can take your time getting the bait to them. Great for beginners and super effective for the experienced.

When fly fishing for tarpon anglers that have fished tarpon with me on my Yellowfin were amazed at how well I could position them to a school of fish, offering them several if not "the" shot at catching one on the fly.

if you are 1 or 4 persons, new to flats fishing, or just want to be comfortable on the water for your day of fishing and not cramped up in a little flats boat, then Sign up for a trip on our bay boats. You will be glad you did.
